Business Development / Inside Sales Executive

Overall Purpose:

To drive the growth of Struto through the attraction of new clients. Helping them to understand the benefits of services that connect their website and marketing to their sales and customer services using Struto and HubSpot to fuel their growth. The role will be primarily based out of our new office located in Horsham.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research for prospects based upon clearly identified criteria.
  • Qualify prospects based upon their current approach to online presence and inbound marketing, their size, budget and market segment.
  • Engage prospects (existing or non-HubSpot users), with a view to committing to an initial Discovery call with a strategy consultant and using a range of prospecting techniques including digital.
  • Generating new Discovery call appointments, be they self-generated or as a result of company marketing initiatives.
  • Maximising returns from existing HubSpot clients across the range of bolt-on products and optimisation services.
  • Supporting the needs of clients/potential clients through to agreement at the proposal stage.
  • Developing and managing a personal pipeline using the company’s CRM system.
  • Contributing to product and service development through representation of the voice of the customer in internal meetings.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Delivery of agreed quarterly and annual targets in line with the Struto business development strategy.
  • Growth of new HubSpot licence revenues against agreed targets and in line with individual client development plans.
  • Delivery of KPI’s including Discovery calls generated and successful conversion ratios.

Additional Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly internal reporting and team meetings as required.
  • Management of relevant client needs and ongoing support through to proposal agreement.
  • Personal development & training in line with company programs, standards and protocols.

Line Manager: CEO – Struto.

Background of Role:

A pivotal role within this rapidly growing company delivering new business and establishing a strong prospect pipeline in the UK market place. The role requires a strong inside sales background in a B2B environment, not necessarily in the agency sector but candidates must have the ability to sell to a range of businesses and operating types. The role will suit someone who understands SaaS platforms and creative services sales. There is an absolute requirement for an individual who is a resilient, tenacious and a self-starter who can work on their own initiative.

Remuneration Expectations:

The basic salary will be £28k-35k depending on experience. There will be a sales related bonus scheme and company pension scheme.


Degree (or similar) educated.


Candidates will be expected to demonstrate:

  • A track record of delivering new business and maintaining a pipeline of new and existing prospects including experience in using CRM packages.
  • Ability to follow a well-structured sales process, present and communicate effectively.
  • Strong customer orientation; you enjoy it when the customer succeeds
  • A proactive approach and a clear cultural and personality fit with Struto.
  • Ability to work comfortably with software platforms demonstrating that you are “tech savvy”.
  • Be comfortable independently researching clear prospect criteria.
  • A confident and compelling telephone manner.
  • Capability to write clear and engaging email correspondence.
  • Be able to operate independently as well as in conjunction with senior staff.
  • Likeability, with a track record of relationship development and the ability to converse with a diverse section of customers.
  • An ability to operate comfortably at senior levels in client organisations.
  • The skills to be quick-thinking, creative, flexible and adaptable.

Also desirable is:

  • Exposure to creative propositions - useful but not essential.
  • Understanding of best practice CRM and inbound marketing principles.
  • Experience with HubSpot or within an inbound marketing agency.
