The adage 'a picture is worth a thousand words' certainly holds true as visual content continues to gain popularity and power in online marketing, especially within our social media channels. In fact, HubSpot research indicates that photos generate 53% more 'likes' and 103% more comments than the average post, clearly indicating our media consumption preferences.
But the world of social media moves quickly and each platform updates features or adds enhancements at will and generally with very little, if any, notice. As inbound marketers making use of these platforms day in and day out unexpected changes send us spinning to quickly grasp the benefits (or downfalls) of updates and how it effects our social media publishing.

Social media image sizes are just one of the countless aspects that are subject to these regular enhancements and Google+, Pinterest and Facebook have all rolled out changes to image dimensions in recent months.
